The hat’s embroidered crest features several nods to the borough’s cultural contexts. Within, a house inspired by Jackie Robinson’s Addisleigh Park home sits alongside several jazz-playing figures. Together, they paint a portrait of St. Albans’ Addisleigh Park, regarded as one of America’s most prosperous neighborhoods before the crack epidemic. While originally intended as a white-only segregated community, the historic district became steeped in legacy as home to an alumni of African American jazz musicians including John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Completing the crest is the Pan African American Flag, complemented by a Queens Jamaica spellout on the racer-paneled brim.
